Manufacturing industrial products increased in semi-annual period of 2018

The industry of Tajikistan consists of more than 90 industries and types of production. The majority of enterprises in this

sector have been transformed into joint-stock and private forms of ownership, enterprises with foreign capital have been established. In the republic, there are sufficient reserves of raw materials for the metallurgical, chemical, construction and other industries. Explored the largest deposits of silver, gold, iron, lead, antimony, coal, salt, precious stones and other minerals. The presence of metallurgical, mining, chemical, machine-building, textile and other enterprises with high export potential can satisfy the growing demand of consumers in high-quality raw materials and products both inside the country and abroad. According to statistical data, the volume of industrial production in the manufacturing industry for the first 6 months of 2017 amounted to 4 billion 726 million somoni. For 6 months of 2018, production was made in the amount of 5 billion 890 million somoni, which is 1 billion 163 million somoni more compared to the same period of the previous year. The extractive industry for 6 months of 2017 has reached 1 billion 932 million somoni. In 2018, the indicator exceeded 2 billion 257 million somoni, which is 119% more than in the same period last year. It should be emphasized that with the use of modern technologies, the volume of production of imported goods has increased in this context, the demand for the market will be provided by domestic industrial goods. During the 6 month period of 2018, new products of import substitutes such as bags, rubber, fluoride, aluminum, cryolite, light bristles, baskets and children’s toys were produced. More than 317 million somoni were invested in the production of new products and the creation of new enterprises. In this direction, the Government of Republic of Tajikistan continues to take effective measures to create new jobs, full use of the production capacities of enterprises and an increase in the volume of industrial production.
